Meditation

Sitting in Peace
“Meditation is to know oneself as one is. It is see our real face without any mask."

I have been practicing various forms of meditation since 1998. My introduction to meditation began very simply and where much of my education began… in a library. It has long been my belief that if you want to begin to know something you should first consult the local library. Books are valuable for knowledge and entertainment. It was one particular book that brought about a great interest in meditation for me; Wherever you go there you are, but it is my practice that brought me to where I “sit” today. On this blog you will find (among many other things) conversations about meditation, tips and techniques for meditation and guided meditations to use in your own practice. My meditation practice consists of Zazen (sitting meditation) and Kinhin (slow walking meditation). To read more about meditation on Amanda’s Weekly Zen check out the latest posts on Meditation.
