Changing the terrain…
I can hardly believe that it has been 10 days already since I began my training with Team GOsmart! In the last 10 days I have seen you all accomplish so much and it has been fantastic to get to meet you all. I personally have seen some great things over the last 10 days and racked up some miles on my HJ 112. READ MORE

First Day of Summer Fun
Although my Active training plan marks today as a day of rest I could not help myself… I had to get out and get some miles on the first day of summer. So me and the boys (husband and fur baby Maverick) headed out and explored the neighborhoods around where we are staying this week. It was already hot and humid by 7am but with a slight breeze it was an enjoyable walk with hills, and grass for Maverick breaks. READ MORE

Days 2 and 3 on the 5k walking plan
Two words can describe days 2 and 3’s training… rain and improvement! Wednesday threatened rain all day but the worst of it was a slight drizzle. For Wednesday training I ended up with 1.03 in 15 minutes which gave me a pace of 14.34 and improvement from the day before of 14.51 pace. Today was a 20 minute day and I was able to walk 1.37 miles in 20 minutes which gave me a pace of 14:36. I am really pleased with my results so far. I cannot wait to see what I end up with at the end of 8 weeks. READ MORE

Day One on the 5k walking plan
So my nifty Active Trainer told me that the plan for today was to walk for 15 minutes at medium intensity. I grabbed my HJ112 and my timer and set out on the trail that goes around the campground here in MA (our current location). It was a beautiful morning for a hike… birds chirping, bullfrogs croaking and a slight breeze. Day one of my 8 week training was already off to a good start and I had not pressed the start button on the timer. Me and my boys (husband and furbaby Maverick) set out and hiked the trail for 15 minutes without stopping, which was a bit of a challenge for curious little Maverick. We ended up with 1.01 miles in 15 minutes. Not too bad but my goal is to be at a 12/13 minute mile by the end of my 8 week training. READ MORE
