Baby its cold outside...

Guess what we are going to get this weekend...SNOW! So in preparation for more cold weather I am going to get to work on some of my KAL projects... : MITTENS! Who does not love a great pair of mittens on a cold day. I have some more Woolease or Jiffy that I think would make a nice pair of mittens. : Gloves another cold hand's friend, these will take me a little longer so I might not start these this weekend, plus I am not sure what type of yarn to use yet... : October is almost over and I think another pair of Warm Socks would be nice to have especially in Jiffy, definitely going to start them this weekend. : Still no Potter yarn, can you believe I have not been to a store in months! A little bit about my MA...

If anyone is interested in seeing what I am reading to get ideas for my MA in Literature thesis you can check this list out. And please if you have any suggestions let me know. Right now I am reading Dessa Rose by Shirley Anne Williams for my Analysis class. I am only about 50 pages in but I have to admit it does grab you. Check Amanda Reads later this week for a review (or early next week).

Square Wednesday...

It has been awhile since I have worked on my pillowghan so I decided to pick up the hook and getting some squares made here is what I came up with in the last two days... Square #7 Square #8 (click on the pictures to read a description) Only 20 more squares to go! I think I can have a blanket by December is I keep up the pace I have had the last two days. When I asked Maverick what he thought of my squares this is the reaction I got... PS...For all the Maverick fans out there coming soon he will have his very own photoalbum on Flickr. Squares and Scarves...

With the exception of the socks earlier this week...this week can be labeled the week of squares and scarves... Here are some the squares I have made recently... The 7 inch squares are knitted and the 5 inch squares and crocheted. This is a scarf made out of Homespun Nouveau ... And this is a scarf made out of leftover Red Heart Navy and Buff...

Warm Feet!

My knitted socks for Socktoberfest are done! Yarn: I skein Lion Brand Woolease Navy Fleck Needles: US 7 circulars (two pairs) Pattern: I knitted two long tubes on circulars (the two circulars method) then sewed one end of the tube and Volia... instant cold weather socks. Will I make More: They are quick and warm I think I will I have a skein of Jiffy in a white color laying around that would make a nice pair of warm weather socks to lazy around in.

Gift Poncho...

Here is the gift poncho I have been working on for awhile...Finished!! Yarn: Red Heart Navy (1 skein) Red Heart Buff (4 skeins) Needles: US 10 circular Pattern: It is just a large rectangle folded over and sewed up leaving a neck whole (a lot like Villa from Knitty)

Snow!

Maverick's favorite way to spend a day is now much more possible because on October 8th it began to snow and stick around... Doesn't he look so happy!

Sock patterns ...

Here are the patterns I plan on using for the week of socks... No gauge socks for the Feet Need SocksCAL. Scrunchy Socks for Socktoberfest 2005. This pattern seems a little more difficult then it has to be so I will more then likely change some of the pattern to work better for my knitting skills. Tomorrow...pictures of my sock progress...

Socks! Socks! Socks!

It is the week of socks! That's right I am going to give socks a go again. This week I am going to start a pair of crochet socks for the Feet Need Socks CAL and a pair of knitted socks for Socktoberfest 2005 Here is the yarn I want to use... The purple one is peaches and cream (not sure of the color)which I want to crochet up into a basic pair of socks,and the woolease is one that I am going to knit up for a warm thick pair of socks to cozy up around the house in. So I am off to make some socks...

Break!!...

Ahhhh I see a nice break in my future... With the promise of Fall Break next week I find myself gathering yarn, making lists of projects and promising hubby and pup that we will make a trip to the dog park. So stay tuned because me and toshiba will be hanging out this weekend...
