This is a test post from

It is over!

Finally the GRE is over! I took the test yesterday afternoon, now I am glad it is over but I will admit that I did not do that well, just a little below average. But it is over and now all I have to do is wait to hear from CU. Everything else in my application is darn good so I figure I have a 60-40 chance. Anyway now I will be more regular on my blog. You know who are some of the nicest knitting bloggers on the web Suzi and Katt. They always stop by to say hi and offer up help. Kudos to you both!

Holy Cow, HELLO Works!!

Okay so maybe HELLO is not a piece of crap, maybe it was just having a bad day... Sorry HELLO for the negative vibes. Anyway here is the recent happenings in my life, we got ourselves a little uses a lot of water and enegry so it might go back, but it is so cute. Also Bucket O Chic turned out to be too small and too weird looking so it became the remote holder, it still looks weird but I could not rip it all. Recent Happenings Posted by Hello

The Time Travelers Wife Well I heard all the hype on this book, and was expecting great things. Personally, I thought the book was boring and really did not go anywhere. Sure he bounced back and forth in time and met himself and his future wife Clare, but truly this book read more like a confusing journal then a novel. Perhaps I gave up on the book too soon (after a hundred or so pages I went straight to the end and decided I was done with the book) but I could not take one more episode of him meeting himself in the past/future and teaching himself to shoplift or any other things he would need to survive the time traveling life. Although I thought the idea behind this book was interesting, I just could not get into the story. Next week's review: The Plot Against America by Philip Roth

Hello is a piece of crap... (ranting ahead)

Okay I am usually in a good mood and I try not to say negative things but I am fuming over HELLO! It keeps signing out everytime it says it will upload the pics I want to send to my blog. I have now spent 10 minutes trying to download pics with no success. Is anyone else having or have had this problem? I am seriously sick of how junky HELLO is. Is there any other way to host pictures safely? Sorry for the rant...

My little brother made a Wheaties box!

So my 11 year old brother has been playing basketball for his local YMCA. My parents just IMed me and said that he had a terrific game and made Wheaties MVP so they are going to put him on a box! That is so cool. I will post a pic soon of his box and of my 50 first dates collection, plus my bucket-o-chic which I decided to make in a gray and baby blue. I would post them now but my digital camera has apparently run away from home. Oh and apoligies for my lack of appearance on my blog, studying for the GRE is an all day event for me. After Jan 30 I will be making more regular appearances.

It is Mailed!

I finally finished my application to the CU English Grad Program and mailed that off today. I feel so accomplished now all I have to is wait and see. I have been told that I should know the results by Late February or March. I am still studying for the GRE which is why my blog has suffered a bit. I did get the chance to watch 50 first dates once again and knit some mittens. Oops I have not taken pictures of my 50 first dates complete set (scarf, hat, mittens). I will do ASAP. I have to admit it is my favorite piece of knitting thus far. I found this wonderful gray yarn the other day and I thought it would make a lovely tote, so I have begun to knit some ideas. I also stumbled upon someone's blog (for the life of me I cannot remember where I saw it apologies) and found "bucket of chic" the cutest little hat that sounds so easy to make (it is a three piece hat that looks a little bit like a Paddington Bear Hat) so the next time we hit the big city I will pick up some yarn to make myself a little hat ( still not sure of the colors to use, suggestions are welcome). Also I was doing my daily yoga and I thought I really dislike my mat. It is a dark gray and not very lively at all. Later as I was reading through Yoga journal I discovered some beautiful woven mats with a sort of cheesecloth backing. I showed my husband and he said, "you can make that." Yes I can and I will, but my question to all of you is what yarn would be best to use. Something thin and light knitted on a small sized needle? Oooh then I can make a bag for it as well. We might have to make a trip to the big city sooner then we planned, I am so excited to get busy on my projects. Happy Thursday all...

Ah Mountain Living...

Have you ever seen a large propane tank delivered? Well it was our first experience and let me tell you it was exciting as heck. With this tank we will have power and heat for an entire year before we have to refill. Shots below of the excitement! Here is the tank on the truck... Here it is being lifted off the truck... Oops it almost hit the tree... And finally it made it to the ground. Posted by Hello

A little humor...

I was on Katt's blog and I noticed her little blog pet so I went ahead and I got myself one. He is a cute little fella but he needs cheering up, so I was looking through a local publication we get up here in the mountains called the mountain neighbor and found some funny little jokes to share with you all... Dorms.. On the first day of college, the Dean addressed the students , pointing out some of the rules. "The female dormitory will be out of bounds for all male students, so too the male dormitory to all female students. Anybody caught breaking the rules will be fined $20 the first time, $60 the second time, and $180 the thrid time. "Are there any questions?" At that point , a male student in the crowd inquired, "How much for a season pass?" If Only... A man is driving down a road. A woman is driving down the same road from the opposite direction. As they pass each other, the woman yells, "PIG!" The man immediately leans out his window and yells, "STUPID!" They each continue on their way, and as the man rounds the next curve, he crashes into a huge pig in the middle of the road and has a terrible car wreck. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If only men would listen! So that is just a few of the little funny tidbits the mountain neighbor puts in their issues, hope they made you giggle. Have a good Sunday everyone!

Pretty as a Picture

VG You have the Vermeer girl look. A Vermeer girl appealed mostly to the old masters of the Dutch school, who painted pictures of everyday life as they knew it. With her fine, fair skin, she suited a light, natural, dewy make-up. The Vermeer Girl loved homely things, such as homemade soaps and candles. The following artists would have liked to paint you; Pieter de Hooch and Jan Vermeer. 'Pretty As A Picture' - Which Artist Would Paint You? brought to you by

Jumbled Thursday...

Have you ever had a day where your brain feels like scrambled eggs? Must have been all the cold yesterday I am still defrosting. I cannot get enough of 50 First Dates. I absolutely love this movie. Now I have a hat for my scarf and today I will watch it again because I need mittens, and well of course to watch the movie again. I feel a little like Betty Crocker today, I baked cookies! We did not have a cookie sheet so we made them in a muffin pan. I actually like the way they came out in the muffin pan, forget the cookie sheet! I thought I was the only one who did not like fun fur but no look at big geek's take on fun fur. My 50 first dates scarf was lonely... Breakfast! Chocolate shortbread cookies, get your snack on! My 50 First Dates Scarf. I made this while watching the Adam Sandler movie. I have to say this is the best movie I have watched in a long time. I highly recommend it!

He spends everday trying to get her to fall in love with him and she has no short term memory. A great romantic comedy! Posted by Hello

A Look Back at the traveling 2004 (lots of pics)

On this first day of 2005 I thought it would be fun to share some of my pictures from our 2003-2004 adventures. I have thousands and thousands of pictures so this was not an easy task. Hubby and I had a fantastic time and I have to admit there are times that I miss be a fulltimer, but it is good to be back in CO. Over the last two years we went from CO up north to the Dakotas only to drop down all the way to FL. From Florida we headed southwest through Texas all the way to CA then up into the Northwest. We have been to every state in the US except for the far reaches of the NorthEast. Hope you enjoy some of our highlights of 2004. Our two year trip began in this little guy. Here we are in Pensecola FL

We eventually upgraded to this guy. This was our home in Oceana WA
We spent a month at Disney World. This is the Beauty and the Beast show at MGM
On our way from East to West we stopped in Red Feather CO to see the Shambala temple
Lava Cast Forest in Bend OR '

Sunset at Cape Kiwanda in Pacific City Oregon

My absolute favorite about the trip west were all the awesome looking rocks on the beach. Cape Kiwanda Oregon
